Players to watch:Lions: Ryan Jones- has been very impressive in this tour and a very mobile forward. at no.8 he can show what he has to help for the lions scrums.
Dwayne Peel- quick scrumhalf, never wasting any time. could very well be the next great welsh no.9.
Jonny Wilkinson- still trying to regain his form after his post-world cup injury, he is wearing the jersey 10 in this 2nd test trying to prove his point as being one of the best flyhalves in the world.
Paul O'Callaghan- very impressive during the mid-week, he is a definite must watch. very good with his lineout catches, his mobility in mauls has him standing out from the rest.
Gavin Henson- a very surprising ommision from the first test, henson will definitely get out on the field today to prove his point that he is indeed a legend in the making. watch out for his power tackles, runs, kicks and also deadly side-steps.
Shane Williams- was very impressive during the mid-week match against manawatu, scoring 5 tries, his 'twinkle toes' will be a plus factor putting him on the wing despite his miniature size.
Jason Robinson- after a very disappointing first test, he has been moved to the wing from his previous 15 position. proving to be deadly on breaks, he will be a threat to the new zealand defence should he be at his best.
All Blacks: Byron Kelleher- out filling up justin marshall's boots, kelleher has definitely proved to be one of the scrumhalves with the quickest minds. always finding gaps in the defence, the lions will have to tighten up their defence and not allow him any space.
Dan Carter- very deadly with his boot. although not having the same creative mind as carlos spencer, carter definitely makes it up with his kicking skills.
Richie Mccaw- was very impressive during the first test, he is definitely a serious threat. very aggressive at the breakdowns, he'll have the lions scrambling to secure the ball. his versatility has led him to be one of the best flankers ever produced.
Tana Umaga- captain of the all blacks and under heavy scrutiny for his tackle on brian o'driscoll which put him out of the whole lions tour. that aside, the all blacks centre is very deadly with his line of running. able to exploit gaps in the defence and also very strong in tackles.
head-to-head match upsDwayne Peel vs Byron Kelleher- both very quick-thinking scrumhalves, it'll be a matchup at no.9 like no other. both will be out on the field looking out for gaps to exploit in the defence.
Jonny Wilkinson vs Dan Carter- while wilkinson will be on the field trying to regain his form and trying to link up with a welsh line from no. 8-13, carter, who had an impressive game in the first test, will continue providing the all blacks with his link up between the forward pack and the backs. the only difference today could be the quality of the boot in these two players.
Gavin Henson and Gareth Thomas vs Aaron Mauger and Tana Umaga- it will be a tight battle in the midfield, both sides having strong runnings and solid tackles. no surprise if someone else comes out of this match with a dislocated shoulder. both henson and mauger could provide the extra boot to their respective flyhalves, both having a strong sense of kicking.
Paul O'Callaghan vs Ali Williams- williams contributed alot in the lineouts during the first test. taking balls not only from his own team throws but also stealing opponent's throws, even resulting him in having a try. o'callaghan on the other hand was a standout in the manawatu game, commanding the lineouts and the mauls. definitely a close competition in the lineouts.
yep thats my analysis. hahahaha. k lar enjoy the game ppl! its at 3 later on star sports. have a nice weekend ahead!
