hey dudes! first and foremost HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! hahahah i know a bit the too late but i havent updated this new year till now so yea. been kinda bz and anyway i just came back frm obs camp yesterday. and i plan to blog bout it cuz it was super cool.
day 1
assemble in sch bla bla bla skip everything to the part at punggol jetty. yea then wait for the ferry the went to the sch... turns out we headed to obs camp 2. which was the place for mobile since everyone of us were mobile and none of us were residential. yea then i was in the cousteau watch. watch as in groups lar. one watch about 16 people. gather at the mph of camp 2 then each watch was given their instructor and my watch we got lois. she's relli cool ah and she hardly scold us. haha first thing to do was icebreaker game then we cleared the store and do checklist make sure the stuff all there. then we got our lunch. got all our rations for the rest of our camping. on the first lunch itself we found out the hungry monsters of our watch. haha andrew and jeremy kept asking if anybody had extra food. dotz... so they were our "food dustbin" for the rest of the camp. after lunch we went for our kayaking exercise. whee fun fun fun. i luv kayaking except capsizing. i dun relli fancy capsizing. hahaha. but becuz it was an exercise we had to capsize. then after kayaking ex go back to camp then wash up and all went to pitch tents. damn first few nights we had trouble pitching tents cuz we started too late and ended up without any light pitching tent and it was about 1-2 hrs of pitching tent on first night. then dinner then gathering with lois to know bout our plans for the next day then sleep. haha
day2
omg! we totally didnt pitch the flysheet for our tent properly and not only did it rain outside it 'rained' in our tent oso. my tent had me farish aaron and jeremy. haha yea so our tent was kinda wet inside. in fact all 4 tents of our watch was wet. cuz all never pitch properly. haha. then breakfast and all at mph. we ran to the mph cuz it was pouring freaking heavily. i stared out into the rain and stoned. haha. after breakfast cleared up the campsite. then we had belaying exercise. kinda boring since i oredi know how to belay. was just looking forward to the rock climbing part of the day. so after belaying ex we had lunch then the rock climbing ex. i didnt bother to climb the easy wall cuz all along me nathan and marcus oredi aiming the hard wall. it was a wall that was straight then parallel to ground then straight again. haha of cuz i didnt make it to the top. couldnt do the overhang part. freak seh. keep grabbing wrong rock. haha. k lar then after that we set off on our journey. k this obs camp thing right is actually an expedition that consist of climbing kayaking and oso hiking. thats why got all the exercises to prepare us for the whole expedition. so our first destination for the day was to go frm camp 2 to obs camp1. camp1 is like more relax place and leisure compared to camp 2 lar. at first lois told us it could either be a half hour journey or could take the whole night depending on which route we took. and lucky for us we took the right route and got there in only 20 mins. once there we had dinner at the dining hall. first time we didnt have to cook dinner. the food was so nice compared to day 1. haha but we made a mistake. we ate too long then we had to pitch tent in the dark. and just when we thought that was the worse part, we were wrong. apparently we brought 4 tents but one tent had no poles or pegs in it. so we were screwed. only got 3 tents for the night so had to squeeze. but believe it or not the 2nd night was the night i slept the best ah
day 3
woke up had a delicious breakfast at dining hall again then cleared up campsite. then we did our climbing activity there which was the "inverse tower" it was this cool tower which had obstacles we had to climb. my partner was aaron and we had a damn good time ah. after another splendid lunch, we continued our expedition and hiked off to some place lar. apparently it was called shopping centre but it was jus plain land. initially lois said that our hike earliest would be at least 3 hours. we were shocked. because wad we had with us for our hike is our bagpack which weighed at least 15kg? or more which we had to pack stuff like food cooking stuff our own stuff and all. and 3 hrs with that seemed like hell. haha. lucky camp2 was in between where we were and where we were going. so we stopped by at camp 2 to collect the poles for our 4th tent. after that we continued. it wasnt bad ah we set out about 2.40? yea and reached about 4.30. so it wasnt that long. we were the first watch there. cuz u see every watch has a buddy watch and our buddy watch was livingstone (syafiq is there) and every two watch there'll be another pair of buddies so for us it was cousteau, livingstone, nila utama and junko. so we were the first at the shopping centre so we got to choose the good ground n immediately pitched our tent. since it was still bright, we managed to pitch up our tent real quick. soon oso the other 3 watches started coming in. then about 6.30 liddat we cooked dinner. it was instant noodles for us. then we had briefing for the nxt day cuz the nxt day was to be a kayaking expedition back to camp 2. wad seh... can actually go by the western way which would be shorter but we had to go the eastern way which meant one whole big round around ubin. haha bout 20km? yea.. so sleep at night.
day 4
got up really early cuz need to pack and go off. so woke up about 6. then pack ready we put our bagpacks onto the speedboat. cuz obviously we cant bring our heavy bagpacks onto our kayaks lar. after everything settle brought out our kayaks. me and aaron partner up. estimated time was to be bout 8 hours? yea.. but teh whole journey was damn fun lar.. because there was so many of us it was so fun we didnt even feel tired or pain. then me n aaron (one kayak) and farish and marcus (another kayak) whenever we see speedboat or any boat pass by our path we always rush to go near there. cuz we wanted to get the waves that came frm the boats. haha damn fun ah. then we had lunch in the sea. cuz we oredi pack onto the speedboats biscuits and stuff for lunch. then continue kayaking all the way to camp 2. we reached at about 2+ and we set out at 8am liddat or later. so it wasnt relli 8 hours lar. because our watch learnt our lessons about getting tents up early we quickly pitched our tents even though it was only 3+. relli didnt wanna pitch in the dark. and this time we got the tents up damn quick ah cuz now everyone know how to pitch. after pitch we cooked dinner. haha our last day cooking dinner ourselves. and our last night sleeping in tents. amazingly somehow we had a lot of food for dinner. we had the curry chicken in cans then got sardines got tuna. after dinner we packed up our store cuz had to do storecheck. any missing stuff have to pay. so we started koping stuff frm other watches. hehe. in the end we didnt have to pay for anything. then went to sleep.
day 5
woke up in the morning and it was raining. hrms why everytime we sleep at camp 2 it rains? haha. k woke up to our last day at obs. was kinda looking forward to going home but was also a bit reluctant to leave. cuz i was oredi getting used to the life there. we batched then had breakfast then final check of store. then we cleared up the whole place then went to souvenir shop to buy stuff. i bought this black tee which was kinda cool. haha. after "shopping" we took a ferry to go to camp 1 where we were gonna have our 'finale'. reached camp 1 and went to the dining hall to have our final lunch. damn freaking good food in a few days. hahaha. after that went to mph of camp1 where hm talked to us. then we had a finale which was kinda boring. consisted of diff activities lar. then me and andrew did the rock climbing. stupid andrew make me climb the wall which had damn little rocks and meant for tall dudes ah. then i couldnt even make it past the red line. hahaha. damn lar.. then bla bla and bla we were in the ferry going back to punggol. then took bus to sch. then i went home... haha. was kinda tired lar when i reached home... yea so thats the end of sec 3 obs orientation camp
oh and kudos to singapore soccer team. they beat indon 3-1. nice game lar. but didnt watch whole match cuz was so tired i slept in front of the tv. hahaha. k lar guess thats all for now
